Taken by mouth, vitamins have to make it through your digestive system first, and only part of what you swallow reaches your blood. An IV skips that step, so more of it reaches you. Here is what each ingredient in this bag is there to do.

Vomiting, diarrhea and fever pull fluid and electrolytes out faster than you can sip them back. A liter of lactated ringers puts them back without asking anything of your stomach.
4 mg
Calms the signals that trigger nausea, and works through the drip even when nothing is staying down.
25 mg
Benadryl helps settle nausea and makes it easier to sleep it off. It can make you drowsy, so bring a driver.
500 mg
Being sick drains magnesium, and it supports how your muscles relax. People notice it as their body unclenching.
Add a booster or an add-in to any drip.
Add-ins go straight into your bag. Boosters are quick intramuscular injections given during the same visit. Tell your nurse what you're after and they'll help you pick.

How long does Stomach Bug take?
Most visits take about 30 to 45 min in the chair. Plan on a few extra minutes at check-in.
Can I walk in for Stomach Bug?
Yes, once you have been in before. New clients start with a free 10 minute intro so a nurse can review your health history. Your intro stays on file for three years, and after that you can walk in any time we're open.
Do I need a driver?
Yes. Benadryl can make you drowsy, so have someone drive you home or book a mobile visit.
I'm contagious. Should I come in?
A mobile visit is easier on you and on everyone in the lounge. A nurse comes to you anywhere in the Birmingham area for a $50 travel fee.
Can I add anything to it?
Yes. Add-ins go straight into your bag, and boosters are given during the same visit. Your nurse can help you choose.
